Concentration and dilution arithmetic for preparing laboratory solutions from lyophilized research materials. For research use only.
Step 1
Enter the amount of material in the vial and the volume of diluent added to it. The calculator returns the concentration of the resulting stock solution.
Amount of material in common pipette volumes
| Volume | Amount (µg) | Amount (mg) |
|---|
Step 2
Calculate how much stock solution to transfer, and how much diluent to add, to prepare a working solution at a lower concentration.
Results assume the full stated amount of material dissolves completely and that the added diluent volume equals the final solution volume. Actual concentration can differ: lyophilized peptides may be supplied as salt forms (such as acetate or trifluoroacetate), and net peptide content can be lower than the gross vial weight. Check the certificate of analysis for your lot where available.
